I'm a bargain shopper and easy baker kind of girl. You probably wouldn't guess it, but I'm a coupon clipper. Actually, I'm a Grocery Gamer and have been using the Grocery Game for 1 year now and I've saved over $2500 in those twelve months. (So if you decide to use the grocery game, please list me as a referral with this email address: trafficjulia@yahoo.com and I'll be forever grateful, in fact, I may make you a quiche).
So what does all this have to do with real men and quiche? Right now I'm making a righteous quiche with things I bought on super-sale: eggs, 18 ct, buy 1 get one free, pilsbury ready bake pie crusts, save $1, and bacon! Oh yes, it's all better with bacon, especially REAL bacon, not turkey bacon which is what we usually eat.
So since I'm making this yummy quiche that Heath will eat and ask for seconds, I thought I'd share the recipe:
1 ready made pie crust
5 eggs
1 cup of half and half
1/2 cup real mayo (seriously, this is the secret ingredient)
1/2 tsp. salt
Now add what you'd like, for mine:
3 dashes of paprika
1 dash season salt
8 strips of crispy bacon crumbled
2 small handfuls of shredded cheddar
1 small handful of shredded parmasean cheese
Whip eggs, mayo, half and half, salt and spices. Ready pie crust in pan and sprinkle cooked, cooled and crumbled bacon over it. Add cheeses, pour egg mix on top. Bake in 350 degree oven, between 45 and 1 hour, check often without opening oven door. Ovens vary and I use a convect option so my oven takes a bit shorter time.
It's done when there's no wiggle in the middle. Let cool and enjoy!
