I've been reading "Your One Year Old: The Fun-Loving, Fussy 12 to 24 Month Old" and I got curious about how many words Alexa and Zoey are saying on a regular basis. I just wrote down a list and counted it. Can you believe 45 words? They won't be 18-months old until Oct. 27th. That's amazing to me. Of course, some are animal sounds to indicate the actual animal. Here's the list:
Mama
Dada and Daddy
Go Go
Shoes
Door
Hi
Hey
Boppa
Mimi
Bye
No
Dog
Duck
Car
Beep Beep
Baby
Star
Kitty
Up
Down
Turtle
Oh or O for the letter or for Cheerios
Ball
Bird
Wa-wa for Water
Ice
Cookie
Milk
More
"Uh-oh"
Eye
Nose
Mouth
Head
Toes
Yea!
Plane
Choo-choo for train
Whoo-whoo for owl
Oink (snort) for pig
Moo
Cow
Gobble (wiggle tongues back and forth) for turkey
One
Two
They both still sign, although Alexa does more than Zoey. She made up her own sign for cracker, and both girls know the signs for bird, plane, more, milk, and please. They constantly amaze me!
